Oklahoma duo and Meridian native will sing and play along with Rucker and rising country artists Liz Davis and Russell Dickerson in live performance presented by C Spire Wireless and Samsung

Ridgeland, Miss. (July 29, 2013) – The Swon Brothers, fresh off their top three finish on NBC’s “The Voice” last month, will perform along with Meridian native and Nashville singer-songwriter Cheryl LuQuire during a special Labor Day weekend concert at the Renaissance in Ridgeland.

The Oklahoma duo of Zach and Colton Swon, who notched by far the best showing by a duo with their third place finish on the hit reality TV singing contest, and LuQuire will join headliner Darius Rucker, one of the hottest stars in contemporary country music, and rising country artists Liz Davis and Russell Dickerson on stage for the Sept. 1 concert.

Dubbed “Darius Rucker Live,” the starting time for the concert sponsored by C Spire Wireless and presented by Samsung has been moved up to 5:15 p.m. with the addition of the two latest country music artists. Gates will now open at 4 p.m., 30 minutes earlier than previously announced.

Tickets for the concert, which will be held in the green open space area just off Highland Colony Parkway between the Renaissance shopping center and the C Spire corporate headquarters office building, are on sale through Ticketmaster. Tickets are $30 each for general admission and $60 each for a limited number of premium VIP passes, which offer special access to the Samsung Experience tent in a fenced area near the stage and complimentary food and beverages.

Rucker, the former front man for Hootie and the Blowfish and the first black artist in 26 years since Charley Pride’s “Night Games” in 1983 to score a No. 1 country single with 2008’s “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It,” is coming off a nationwide tour to promote his new album, True Believers, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart in May.

One of the album’s tracks, bluegrass-infused “Wagon Wheel,” has landed Rucker, a South Carolina native, his sixth No. 1 country hit and his second platinum single. Rucker’s rich baritone cover of the classic tune co-written by Bob Dylan and the Old Crow Medicine Show Band’s Ketch Secor has won universal praise and taken the country music scene by storm.

Sharing the stage with Rucker, The Swon Brothers and LuQuire will be a two other rising country music artists, including Madison, Mississippi native Liz Davis, who made the top 20 in the third season of NBC’s The Voice singing competition, and singer-song writer Russell Dickerson, who recently signed a deal with one of Nashville’s most successful independent music publishers.

Samsung plans to showcase its extensive suite of phones, tablets, laptops, televisions and other electronics and accessories at the tent during the concert – giving consumers the chance to get a hands-on experience with the latest and most popular digital communications, audio and video devices.
